He was of the Methodist faith. Prior to ill health, he was employed with M & M Auto as a car transporter. Survivors include his son, Billy “Mac” McKelvey of Winston; his brother, Dr. McKelvey, III and his wife Teresa of Douglasville; mother of his son, Cindy Watts; childhood friend, Mickey Watts; niece, Meghan Harris and her husband Jake and their son, Jack; nephew, Luke McKelvey and former spouse, Michelle Judge. Significant other, Sandra Carpenter and a host of other friends also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. McKelvey will be conducted on Monday evening at 7 p.m. From the Rosehaven Chapel of the Whitley - Garner Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Shirley officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 p.m.
