The built-in password manager in most browsers is extremely insecure. The fact that it usually uses your PC’s login password for protecting all your other passwords is more than enough reason to drop it in support of third-party. If you’re concerned about the security of your passwords, then you should switch to a secure password manager such as and disable the browser’s built-in password manager. And to help you with this security leap I’m going to show you how to both disable the Save Password option and remove previously saved passwords in all of the major browsers. Firefox To remove the Save Password prompt and already saved passwords in Firefox, follow the steps below:.

Click on the hamburger menu at the top-right corner and select Options from it. Move to the Security section and uncheck the option 'Remember logins for sites'.

This will stop Firefox from saving your passwords in the future. To delete previously saved passwords, click on the Saved Logins button on the same page. Here you can remove saved passwords and even import them to save anywhere else. Opera In the Opera browser you can do the following steps to disable the Save Password option and delete the already saved passwords:. Step 1: Open the Opera menu from the top-left corner and select Settings from it. Step 2: Here move to the Privacy & security section from the left menu and uncheck the option 'Offer to save passwords I enter on the web'.

To manage the passwords, click on the Show all passwords button below it. You can click on the cross (X) next to each saved password to remove it. Safari You can disable the Save Passwords option and manage the previously saved passwords in Safari through below-mentioned steps:.

Open the Safari menu and click on Preferences in it. Now uncheck the option Usernames and passwords to stop Safari from saving your passwords. To manage previously saved passwords, click on the Edit button next to the the Usernames and passwords option.

Here you can remove passwords individually or in bulk. Microsoft Edge In Microsoft Edge, you can prevent the browser from saving your passwords through the following steps:. Go to the Edge main menu at the top-right corner and click on Settings. Here scroll down and click on the View advanced settings button at the end.

Scroll further a bit and toggle off the button below the Offer to save passwords option to stop Edge from saving your passwords. You can click on the Manage my saved passwords button below it to see all the passwords and delete them. Internet Explorer And finally, in Internet Explorer, you can manage the Save Passwords option as well as the passwords saved before by doing the following steps:. In Internet Explorer, click on the Gear menu at the top-right corner and select Internet options from it. Move to the Content tab and then click on the Settings button in the AutoComplete section.

Uncheck the checkbox next to Usernames and passwords on forms and Internet Explorer will stop asking you to save the password. You can click on the Manage Passwords button below it to see all the passwords and remove them.

Alternative ways to Delete saved passwords in bulk To disable the Save password option, you will have to go into the security settings of the respective browser. However, if you just want to delete all of the saved passwords, then there is an alternative method as well. All browsers come with an option to clear browsing data. This feature also has an option to delete all the saved passwords in bulk. Usually, this option is located in the Privacy and Security settings of a browser. Go there and check the option Saved passwords and delete them. You can use a cleaning tool like to delete saved passwords in multiple browsers at the same time.

Just open CCleaner and move to the Applications section. You will see all your installed browsers here. Simply select Saved Passwords under each of the browsers and click on Run Cleaner to delete all the passwords. Do keep in mind that CCleaner also deletes other types of junk files as well in order to clean your PC.

If you don’t want to delete the junk data for any reason, then uncheck all the other options first. Is a Google Apps account. Was created using a 'consumer' Google account. Thus it makes complete sense that when you are signed in with your.@ account you get the You are the owner of message. They key information is which email address was that message received by because that email address is the owner account of. You need to sign out of your.@ account and sign in with that account.

(You cab then make your.@ account an owner of the site to avoid having to do this in future). I tried that with both of two possible e-addresses I may have used to set it up (I didn't keep track because I simply clicked on the link, and it would open). After recently creating a gmail account, however, I tried to access my e-portfolio (via default Google Chrome) and got a message that I didn't have permission to access. I sent site-sharing requests from the gmail account and the two addresses I mentioned above to the other ones and ended up with all three e-addresses being associated with Google accounts, again getting the message that I did not have permission to access.

I also tried a suggestion of changing the primary e-address in Google to an e-address not associated with Google. I was able to add that e-address but did not see an option to change it to my primary Google e-address. Now all four of my e-addresses are associated with Google accounts, and I haven't been able to log in with any of the e-addresses.

I always get the lost permission message, and the invitations to share access just go in circles. I don't know what else to try. When I go onto the website and select site log on it takes me to a google email log on screen and is not accepting the yahoo email address and password.I agrre with point c but I just can't seme to access the site I have tried all emails and passwords that I know of and none working. I added editing permissions to an apps account @ (also my account). It worked beautifully for a long time until just recently I noticed I can no longer log in with my @gmail account.

The apps account still has editing permissions, but not ownership. I followed the instructions to send a 'request access' email, but it didn't show up in my @gmail inbox and I am certain that I have no other accounts of mine linked to this site.

I don't know where the ownership is and how to get it back so I can access the site layout options. Two or three years ago, I helped a friend to publish a site at. We set up a domain at FreeParking and pointed the domain at that site. All has worked as expected until recently when the redirection has stopped working for this site and two others that I help manage for another friend. I am aware that changes within Google Sites have caused this problem and, following directions found within this forum, I've changed the security settings on the other two sites and redirection now works for those sites.

However, for some reason, neither I nor my friend who set up the site above together can gain full control of it. The site appears in My Sites and I can edit a page but if I click on Manage Site I do not have full range of controls and do not have the option to change the security settings as I do in the other two sites which set up with another friend. I did have full control in the past. As I thought, the contact email on the Contact Us page takes me to my friend's email address - however, he cannot manage the site at all, and he is the only other person who ever had administrative rights It seems that at some stage we must have removed his access privileges and reduced mine to page creation and editing only. We therefore seem to have no way to resurrect full administrative rights for either of us. The Site Sharing Request doesn't generate an email to any account of mine or my friend.

I looked at their movie on using the calendar. I am using a canned teacher website that includes a calendar. I tried to enter class information in the dates and it won't let me.

In a calendar in Word or Excel I would have just simply clicked and started typing. Here nothing happened. I tried the 'Edit layout' feature and still could not enter anything in the calendar and in the process of trying every which way my calendar disappeared. Their training video says it takes only a few clicks to set up a website.

Appreciate it. Several years ago I lost edit access to our site after I lost track of the password for the owner account. I've now also lost track of the account name as well.

As a workaround we have duplicated the site and run it from, however it would be very nice to at least remove the original site (as people are still going to the outdated site) - or even better to regain access to the original site address/account. I've tried the procedure you mentioned above and was able to have the Site Sharing Request sent. However, I won't be able to access the account to which the email was sent, lacking both account name and password. Would you have any advice for this situation?

From there on onwards, I only received 'insufficient privilege' messages. I was part of a group many years ago that used google sites called stepengineeringuw2. Recently, I have been receiving frequent emails with the subject header 'stepengineeringuw2 - Request for access'. I have been getting this request from various different people.

However, when I click to 'open sharing settings' I get redirected to the Insufficient Priveleges page. If I request access then I get the exact same email sent to my own address. It appears that I am the owner of this site, but I can't find a way to delete it or get myself out of it.

Hi, Thanks for getting back to me. The problem is that I don't know of any other account it could be associated with. I don't have a yahoo account, and the last account I had before I switched to gmail was a hotmail account. I made the switch years ago, but just to double check I reactivated my hotmail account and logged in, but there is nothing there associated with this stepengineeringuw2. I just want to find a way to stop receiving access requests from strangers and I don't want to be connected to this site in any way anymore. It was so long ago that I don't even remember joining at this point. Please let me know how I can try to fix this.

I am currently the only person able to edit the site (and I originally created it) but I cannot add anyone else or manage the site admin functions. Say enter 'lgvacay' on the search and you will see 'where the sidewalk ends' and then a description of the house that came from the template (two week minimum rental.

Two couples etc.). The site content is fine, it's just the search info. I tried to do my own search using key words such as 'lake george' 'ticonderoga' and 'pet friendly' but I can't find my site anywhere unless I enter lgvacay (which sadly is the web address) and then it's not the information I want people to see.
