Toshiba Eid Driver For Mac
We're trying to connect my Mac to two different Toshiba printers (450 and 4511) that it used to be connected to before the office move last week. The Toshiba rep spent half a day on it today trying to figure it out.

I connected to a different network printer (HP) myself last week. Others are printing on the Toshibas (Windows PC users that is). This is the message I get when I select one of the Toshibas and tell it to print: 'Unable to get printer status.client-error-forbidden' Any insight? I had a look at the Toshiba driver downloads and noticed that there is a different driver for the 350/450 compared to the 4511 due to the different model of eController (I'm assuming that this is the RIP).
Since the driver works to the 350 but not to the 4511 the problem could be driver related, in as far as you are using the wrong driver to connect to the 4511? But it looks like the 350 and 450 share the same Mac driver so my previous theory wouldn't apply for the 450. So I would download the 450 CUPS PPD ( ) and copy this ppd to the folder /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj.
Then create a new IP printer, probably using LPD, and for the Print Using browse to the new ppd. I suggest this because this ppd will not want to use all the special features the current driver has and therefore shouldn't expect some sort of response from the copier, which in turn shouldn't give you the error you are currently getting.
